Duchesne, Lloyd

Overview 

Dr. Lloyd Duchesne, a Cardiologist, is Director of both the Anticoagulation Clinic and the Chest Pain Evaluation Unit at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He is Associate Professor in the Division of Cardiology , Department of Medicine, at the University of Ottawa.

Background 

Dr. Duchesne received his BSc in Biology/Physiology in 1988, and he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa Medical Doctorate Program in 1992. He did Postgraduate Fellowship Training in Internal Medicine at the University of Toronto, and was recognized as a specialist in internal medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in 1996. After completing further Fellowship Training in Cardiology, the Royal College conferred the title of Specialist in Cardiology on him by 1997. Since then, he has been with the Division of Cardiology at the Heart Institute.

Research & Clinical Interests 

Dr. Duchesne is a clinical investigator, involved with multiple international clinical trials studying novel advances in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease.
